“Purple Rain” was inspired by watching Thomas Pridgen of the band “The Mars Volta” perform on Late Night with Dave Letterman in 2008.  At that time Drum Workshop made acrylic kits only for DW endorsed artists.  After months of research, I contacted Romano Cotone of RCI Starlite International.  He was contracted to build the acrylic shells for DW.  In 2010 I had RCI build two prototypes (an 8x10” and 8x12” toms.) After receiving the prototypes, I began to dream of the possibilities.  In the fall of 2016 after years of planning, saving and research I began to put “Purple Rain” into motion.  By winter 2016 the vision was complete and "Purple Rain” had evolved into 24 pieces of purple smoke acrylic embellished in DW gold hardware.  The hardware is a mixture of DW 9000 and Pacific rack hardware.  The Cymbals are Zildjian K Hybrid, Zildjian K Custom Dark and Zildjian Efx.  The percussion is by Latin Percussion, and the throne is by Porter and Davies.  I have been an endorsee of RCI Starlite & Drum Wallet since 2016.

This kit is testimony to my creative passion, drive, and my dream.  It is my hope that it inspires you to imagine, create and to pursue your dreams.  Anything is possible.
